Paula studied graphic design at SA School of Art. This developed into an interest in fine art which she later chose to pursue. After graduating in 1980 she was employed by the Education Department of South Australia in the publishing of teacher resources.
Calligraphy is one of Paula's passions and for several years, Paula exhibited with The Calligraphy Society of South Australia.
Since retiring from full time employment in 2017, Paula returned to her first love of painting and has exhibited her works at various galleries and art shows including Atelier, Crafers, Duthy Street Art, Hughes Gallery, Fullarton, Gallery M, Marion Cultural Centre, Clare Art Show, Normanville Refugee Association, Victor Harbor Rotary, Gawler Community Art Show, and Blackwood Rotary.
Paula mostly paints in oils on canvas and she regularly attends workshops and paints with Liana Vargas as her mentor, at the Duthy Street Art Studio and Hahndorf Studio.
Paula was a finalist in the Unley Art Prize in 2023 with her portrait of Dorinda Hafner, Celebrant.
Paula keeps very busy with her hobby and small business, Paulette Art & Design, Art Cards, and also with her dance studio, Q2Dance, Clogging. She is a registered member of the Australian Clogging Association, Inc. |
